In order to help VexU robotics teams make use of the custom gear cartridge ruling, included is all three Vex v5 Motor cartridges with all internal gearing included (100rpm, 200rpm, and 600rpm)."gear_config_motor.ipt", "ShaftSide.ipt", "ShaftSide_single.ipt" and "mid.ipt" are all inventor iparts so they an be dropped into an assembly and the desired ratios selected. (When doing this make sure to check the actual ratio parameter afterwards because it may vary). The pitch diameter (Pd) of the gear can be found with the following formula: Pd = 11 * Teeth / 500 + 0.0295[the pitch is 45.4545 (fraction 500/11) with a static offset of .0295]. Addendum is 0.022875 ( fraction: 183/8000)Dedendum is 0.027125 (fraction: 217/8000)[all units are inches]The Purple cartridge included is an example of a custom cartridge made with these parts. It has an overall ratio of 155.56 (1st stage is 1:6, 2nd stage is 7:27). It is the color of Thanos as it is the balance between 100 and 200, and the gear ratio infinitely divides. 4 stls of the standard sized vex motor gears are also included for reference.
