Vexis - Tarp/Tent Tie Out

Vexis - Tarp/Tent Tie Out

thingiverse

This is a tarp/tent/hammock stake tensioner/tieout, inspired by the vexis sand serpent from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. It's extremely simple to use in the field, with no knots to remember, weighs next to nothing and allows for a great, taught guyline. I've been using these on my last few trips and they've help up remarkably well, with no slips. The tension of the guyline holds it in place without knots. The gap allows you to slide your guyline in, without having to pull it all the way through the hole. I use 1.8mm guyline, so that is what is used for the regular one. The large size should accommodate paracord. I have also included the fully parametric FreeCAD file. You can edit the values in the spreadsheet to adjust it easily. I personally use my [TIE(out) Bomber](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5587231) as my preferred tie-out, but I like to use these for the doors to my [winter hammock tarp](https://hammockgear.com/the-journey/). You can easily slide the door tie-outs into the gap in closed door mode, or use the tie-out for extra space, open mode. View my profile for other Star Wars related backpacking/camping gear!
