VEX IQ Battery Key
thingiverse
In collaborating with my students using VEX IQ Robotics kits, several batteries were found not to eject properly from the robot brain. After pinpointing the issue, a tool was designed and 3D printed that effortlessly removes stuck batteries. Print Settings Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer Model: MakerBot Replicator 2 Rafts: Not Necessary Supports: None Required Resolution: 100 Micron Infill: 20% Density Notes: Although a 100 micron layer height is not mandatory, it was chosen due to the tool's thin prongs. Four outlines were included in the print for added strength, particularly when using PLA material. Post-Printing The printed tool was carefully removed from the printer and inspected for any defects or debris. It was then cleaned with a soft brush to ensure smooth operation. The tool's effectiveness was tested by inserting a stuck battery into the device and applying gentle pressure. The battery ejected smoothly, confirming the tool's functionality.
