Vevor Lathe Gearbox Spacer Fix. The idea of adding spacers to make the gearbox safe to use is from https://www.thingiverse.com/reynol32 It is NOT required to disassemble the gearbox to install the spacers. However I strongly recommend to take the gearbox apart, clean it up, check all parts, remove burs. On my lathe one of the keys (3x3x30) was broken. I had to create a new one from scratch since I could not resource it easily. It is NOT required to remove the bushing for removing the axle (this concerns the axle where the spacers are added); the trick is to move the reverse gear so that the key (3x3x25) can be pulled out. Once that is done, the axle can be pushed out. Required Printed parts: spacer_screw_nokeyway_5_left (1x) spacer_screw_nokeyway_5_right.stl (1x) spacer_screw_nokeyway_8_left (1x) spacer_screw_nokeyway_8_right.stl (1x) Required other parts hex screw M2x8 (4x) knurl nut M2x5 (4x) Recommended materials: ABS 50% infill (time will tell if ABS was the correct choice) Category: Machine Tools
