Locality: Sierra de Cruces, Coahuila, Mexico Size: 1 cm x 1 cm x 1 cm Formula: Ca19Fe(III)Al4(Al6Mg2)( ){Si2O7}4{(SiO4)10}O(OH)9 Description: A brown, yellow, or green mineral is found in contact-metamorphosed limestones. Also known as idocrase; vesuvian. The sample features a single crystal of yellow-brown vesuvianite without matrix (floater crystal).
