Vespa Velutina Trap - Adapts to standard jars
grabcad
Here's a pretty handy trap design, inspired by everything I've seen so far.Can be done on most printers. (200mm3)The advantage is that it adapts to standard TO82 pots (such as honey pots) in which the bait is placed. Hornets don't have access to it, they don't drown in it so the bait remains functional longer. We change the bait whenever we want without releasing the hornets. Can be used suspended or placed (on a beehive roof for example)Best color to print is red because Hornets are more attracted to it.Diameter of entrance holes: 8mm so that the European hornet cannot enterDiameter of the exit holes: 5.5mm so as not to trap bees and other curious pollinators.Design available and modifiable online on Onshape:https://cad.onshape.com/documents/06280331fb1ee69e51f278a9/w/3b42fe9ddb51ab9cd8d1189b/e/7b04ff8ac4875a3207b7c2ecMy print took 7 to 10h a part.Good trapping.
