I'm designing a custom shelf for our plush Christmas turkey, ensuring it can sit securely on top of the modern TV without falling off. This holiday tradition has been a part of our family's routine for over seventeen years. With older CRT and LCD screens, perching the turkey was relatively easy due to their thicker profiles. However, with today's slimmer TVs, we needed a creative solution. I've come up with a simple shelf arrangement that attaches to the rear VESA mount on our TV using M5 bolts. This provides ample space for the turkey to rest comfortably on top of the screen. Given the turkey's light weight (85g), the shelf requires minimal structural support to keep it stable. To set this up, you'll need two M5 screws that fit into the TV's VESA mount holes. The shelf itself measures 175mm from the mounting points and is 54mm wide, ensuring a secure perch for our festive friend.
