There is a protrusion near the VESA mount on the back of my monitor that prevented me from mounting it the way i wanted to. Hence, I created a simple VESA spacer that let me use slightly longer screws to give the required clearance between the mounting plate and the back of the monitor. Just be sure the screws are not too long for your monitor!
