VESA & RPi Mount Enclosure, Atari-Compatible eclaire Mini
thingiverse
Compact, modular enclosure for the Eclaire Mini Atari-8-bit-compatible computer, second run (July 2019), purple circuit board. Allows attaching your EclaireXL computer to a 75x75mm or 100x100mm VESA hole pattern on the back of your monitor. Or, attach a Raspberry Pi display to the enclosure using the 49x58mm B+ hole pattern. Multiple hole patterns are available on the bottom half for attaching the monitor in various positions and orientations. A right-angle cartridge extension cover is included (a small extension PCB and card edge connector are needed, but not included). In addition to building a space-saving, all-in-one desktop with separate keyboard, this case can be attached to a small display and a custom, gamepad-sized keyboard to build a portable, handheld Atari powered by a battery pack or USB power bank. EclaireXL thread on AtariAge: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/281810-atari-compatible-hardware-eclairexl-in-mini-form/page-1 This remixed case has the same footprint as the EclaireXL circuit board (170x130mm). It is smaller than the themed cases that were designed earlier, and can be printed in 85x130mm pieces on 3D-printers with smaller beds, then epoxied. You might need to trim the standoffs and supports for proper fit. Trim and roughen the glue edges and test fit all shell pieces against your Eclaire circuit board before applying epoxy to the two pieces of each half. Orient the bottom shell against the back of your monitor making sure necessary cables can be plugged into corresponding ports and that cables can be conveniently routed without excess strain. For VESA monitors, use 4x M4 screws of appropriate length to attach the bottom shell to the back of your monitor. RPi displays use 4x M2.5 screws. You might need to use studs and nuts in hole locations that overlap with EclaireXL standoffs. Cover fastener heads with electrical tape or other insulation to prevent shorting the back of the circuit board. No cartridge guide is included. Use foft's cartridge guide which is available in post #114 and here: http://www.64kib.com/atarixlfpga_svn/trunk/atari_800xl/eclaireXL_ITX/hardware/case/mini/stl/Cartridge%20v8%20top_up.stl You will need two screws to affix the guide to the standoffs beneath the circuit board. If a right-angle cartridge orientation is desired, assemble the extension PCB, edge connector, and insert it into the extension shell. Attach the cartridge guide with two screws. Use 4xM2.5 screws to attach the right-angle cartridge shell to the top shell. Next, position the Eclaire circuit board against the bottom shell followed by the top shell. Use 5x M3x8mm and 2x M3x12mm machine screws to fasten the assembly together.
