Very Simple Name Plate
thingiverse
This name plate is simplicity at its finest. It's designed for printing with multiple colors when only one extruder is available. The pieces fit together seamlessly, no glue required to hold them in place. You can modify the font, height, thickness, border width and make slight adjustments to padding to account for varying font styles. Instructions Open the openSCAD file, and start tweaking the parameters. Export your custom STL file once you're satisfied with the changes. When slicing, separate the STL into multiple objects, then print them individually. I've found that making the back plate glow in the dark adds an extra touch. Once done, carefully insert the letters into place. It might take a little effort, but that's exactly what you want - no glue to mess things up. Make sure to "drop" the objects onto the plate during printing, as by default they float freely in the STL file. This ensures proper placement and alignment. Print this STL as is - don't forget!
