Vertical X-Axis Standard
thingiverse
The objective of this initiative is to standardize rod spacing on 3D printers with a vertically oriented X axis, such as RepRap 1x2, Mixtape Mendel, Emaker Huxley, and an anticipated Prusa variant from Russia. Though informal, the standard may serve as a starting point for designers of conforming bots, X carriage designs, and X axis assemblies. With inter-operable designs, cross-pollination among projects may be facilitated. The proposed center-to-center distance between vertical smooth rods is 70 mm. Discussions regarding the standard can take place in the RepRap forum topic located at "http://forums.reprap.org/read.php?2,95828". For further information and updates, refer to the description page on the RepRap wiki: "http://reprap.org/wiki/Vertical_X_Axis_Standard". The initiative was contributed by RepRap user Emanuel.
