Vertical X-axis Belt Mount with Built-in Tensioner
thingiverse
Enhance your PBC linear slide's belt securing with a vertical X-axis belt tie down for MendelMax 1.5. This version offers an integrated belt tensioner, eliminating the need for cable ties or large clamps. The grooves in the mount are designed to securely fit standard GT2 2mm pitch, 6mm wide timing belts. You might need a small flat screwdriver to push the belt into place. To install, you'll require 5 x 10mm M3 screws (four for mounting, one for the cap), 1 x 25mm M3 screw (for tensioner), 1 x M3 nut, and 1 x M3 acorn nut. After printing and assembling the tensioner, attach it to the X-carriage's backside. Start by inserting the closed belt end in the groove, loop it around the motor and idler, tighten, and then pass it through the acorn nut and bottom groove. Adjust for optimal tension, leaving about 15mm for fine-tuning. Finally, fasten with the cap, ensuring not to over-tighten. The cap screw is non-load bearing.
