This is a prototype of a vertical wind-turbine I designed, the wind conditions weren't optimal - very gusty. I'd never seen one with this design before, but I had the idea and wanted to test whether it would work. You can find the video at this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-z4ecao6qiY&t=69s. I used an old hub motor from a bike as a generator - 24v 250w. A 2GT timing belt, 1000mm long and four KFL000 bearings (10mm) were also part of the design. It's possible to use an electronic wind direction indicator to hold the blades in the right position using stepper motors. This would make it easier to upscale the turbine. If there's too much wind, you can simply hold them in a neutral position. Take a look at my other designs - I've got more turbines to check out.
