Vertical Text - Spiff at a 45 degree angle
thingiverse
Printing polygons at a 45-degree angle allows vertical faces to be easily printed. Utilize linear_extrude_45 similarly to linear_extrude in your OpenSCAD code. There are two operation modes available: standalone extrusion or shallow extrusion. The shallow mode is intended for use with vertical surfaces and can be applied on top of existing or new prints. Additional implementation details have been incorporated into the Spiff system, making it possible to create vertically oriented text designs. Download and install Spiff from this location: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:106256. Locate all associated files and store them within the same directory as your installed Spiff program.
