Vertical Spool Holder
thingiverse
Hi, I really liked the spool design on my previous printer (Turnigy Fabrikator), so I created this part myself. To replicate it, you'll need: 2 spool holders just like the ones at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:928600. 2 prints of the provided "top spool holder.stl" file. 4 M420 Allen Screws. 4 square aluminum tubes 1010443mm each - drill a D4 hole 10mm from one end. 1 aluminum tube D10504mm. That's it! The setup should be strong enough to hold two pieces of 1kg filament spool; if not, I'll design another part using a 12mm aluminum tube instead. Here are the print settings I used: No rafts were necessary. No supports were needed either. The resolution was set to 0.2mm. I infused the material at a 30% rate. Additional notes: I printed with black PLA at 210 degrees, had my bed temperature set at 70, and adhered it all to kapton tape while running a print speed of 50mm/s. It took around one hour and thirty minutes, covering 6.6 meters of printing distance.
