Vertical microscope slide holder/storage (parametric)
thingiverse
I needed a fast-printing microscope slide holder that could store my slides in a compact space, so I came up with this design. It takes me roughly 25 minutes to print a single holder for 21 slides. To add an extra layer of security for storing them, you can print two boxes and install one at each end of the slides, provided your labels don't obstruct the frame. I've included frames that hold 5, 11, 15, and 21 slides in my design. Additionally, I've attached a `.f3d` file that is parametric, allowing you to open it in Fusion 360 and modify the numbers as needed. However, keep in mind that the number of slides should always be an odd number because the design relies on placing a slot in the center and then expanding symmetrically outwards. This holder can accommodate glass slides up to 77×26×1.2 mm and keeps them about 1.7 mm apart.
