Vertical Laptop Stand

Vertical Laptop Stand

myminifactory

This is a basic stand designed to hold a laptop in an upright position, freeing up desk space and improving the ability of the cooling system to work efficiently. The opening is 26mm wide, which should be big enough for the vast majority of PCs out there given how tiny computers have gotten lately. The surfaces that are likely to touch the PC are radiused to prevent damage, especially at the top. I added feet to the bottom of mine to deaden some of the sound it makes on the desk surface - I had some self-adhesive felt feet, but I suspect rubber would work very well. There are two versions, Rev. - which has thinner uprights with parallel sides and Rev. A, a beefier version that has uprights which are wider at the bottom for a bit more strength and a more sturdy aesthetic. I also included the FreeCad files for both revisions so you can tweak things as you please. It's a simple design, so it should be trivial to remove the fillets and chamfers, modify the foundational geometry, and reapply fillets and chamfers as you see fit.
