Vertical Chess Board
thingiverse
I had seen a few of these vertical chess boards at bars and restaurants and was inspired to create one of my own. Fair warning, this involves a numerically large number of prints (160), but it means you should be able to enlarge as much as you see fit. The pieces fit snuggly, but I needed to hammer them together (I used a failed pipe print and a hammer to really bang them in; they aren't going anywhere). The "diagonal" pieces could technically be arranged in a number of fashions, but that was simplest in order to line them up as needed. You'll need 48 main pieces, 16 diagonal pieces, 64 squares (32 black and 32 white), 28 border pieces, and 4 corner borders. I'm using an existing chess set, so the king is a bit too large. Next step will be to print from available pieces here, and have squirrels fight robots! This is my first attempt to design and post a print of my own, so any feedback on how it went for others is welcome! It's great to be able to contribute something after all the downloads I have made here!
