Vertical carriage for Rostock with Jonas Kühling's LM8UU holder
thingiverse
I used LM8UU holders on my Prusa Mendel v2 with an X-Carriage from Thingiverse (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:23897). I'm currently working on a Rostock build, and when complete, will update the progress. My LM8UU bearings were too loose on my drill rod, so I doubled them up with a Thingiverse design (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:32000). For my Rostock build in Slic3r, I used settings of 0.35 nozzle, 0.20 layer height (0.25 for the first layer), 45-degree fill at 40% with line method, no brim or support material. The model includes built-in brims and support to prevent curling and secure brackets for m3x20 and nuts. To use the SCAD file for this Rostock LM8UU holder, you'll need files from GitHub (https://github.com/jcrocholl/rostock) and a SCAD design from Thingiverse (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:16158). The STL file uses a first layer height of 0.25. The bearings should fit snugly without bolts and require minimal torque for secure placement.
