I'm on a tight budget, so I couldn't afford even a basic hobby camera stand to take clear, straight-on shots of objects. To solve this problem, I created a simple setup using 1/2" wooden dowels and three custom 3D printed brackets that allow me to stabilize my old Canon D20 or my affordable $35 digital microscope camera, as well as my Microsoft LifeCam, to capture sharper images.
