Vertical Boiler with Steam Superheating
grabcad
This is a miniature vertical boiler designed for generating steam to power model steam engines. Made predominantly from copper, it lacks an integrated heating element, which must be placed underneath the boiler. The produced steam travels over the heating component after emerging from the top of the boiler, thus superheating it prior to its use in a mini engine. The safety valve concurrently functions as the fill point, with the spring rated for 35 psi pressure; the entire boiler must withstand 50 psi without leaking or distorting. For all joints, including those riveted together, soldering is necessary; silver solder is required for unsoldered joints, while weaker solder may be used for riveted connections.
