Vertex2
thingiverse
This revised version of my prior posable robot action figure (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:64131) boasts redesigned joints for enhanced sturdiness and a more realistic range of motion, allowing it to balance on one foot without toppling over. Additionally, the model is now more compact and has slightly altered proportions compared to its predecessor. A new image showcases the figure alongside a Lego Hero Factory figure for size reference. An updated upper leg STL file has been released, resolving previous density issues during slicing. Three new zip folders are available, containing 3DM files of the entire figure or individual joints for custom designs. Inspired by Toy Story, the robot's name has been added to its foot, as depicted in a provided image. For optimal printing, use Makerware with settings of 3 shells, 5% infill, and 0.1mm layer height. Support material is not required. If using PLA, lightly sand the joint contact surfaces due to the slippery nature of PLA. ABS may also necessitate this treatment. Certain parts like hips and upper legs feature pins for a friction fit; these areas might require slight sanding before gluing in place. Faberdashery supplied all filament used, which included glow-in-the-dark inserts.
