Vertex K8400 XY LM8UUU Bearing Upgrade

thingiverse

This is a remix from the XY Linear Bearing parts in https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1450175 Don't know if anyone is still using this old printer, bought one used a couple of months ago, it is my first printer. :) Anyway, it was so noisy! I found the plastic linear bearings being the main source, hence swiched to LM8UUU linear bearings instead. The LM8UUU are longer but that in turn gives a much better support for the rods. A bit of printable area will be lost in X/Y, around 10mm on both axes. Note: After mounting I realized it would be possible to retain the original build area if the pulleys for the belts are "mirrored", eg with the screws on the other side giving more clearance for the LM8UUU Bearing. If you go down this path, the end-stop parts (VERTEX_LINEAR_BEARING_CLAMP_LM8UUU_X-1 and VERTEX_LINEAR_BEARING_CLAMP_LM8UUU_Y-1) must be shortened 5mm. I have not tried it myself but it should be feasible. The printer is much less noisier after this upgrade, and I also get better print results on higher printing speeds.
