Cover for Velleman Vertex K8400 On-Board Operator. Given the circuit board's many contacts and its relatively open design inside the printer, I figured it would be wise to create a cover for this area. The primary purpose of this cover is to shield the contacts from dust and oil, which could damage them over time. Additionally, if you were to drop a metal component on the circuit board, the cover would prevent short-circuiting, protecting the delicate electronics within. A PDF with measurements has been included, so be sure to check the height measurement of 68mm on the right-hand side of the model. This raised area is crucial in compensating for the existing raised section on the circuit board. However, due to the limited space between this area and the lower end of the lower corner clamp within the Vertex housing, it's essential to ensure a snug fit. Before printing, make sure the design meets your specific requirements, as this model represents the final iteration after several adjustments were made to accommodate the unique shape of the circuit board. A 5-hour print time demands precision, so take the time to verify that everything fits correctly. I had to revisit and modify the raised area myself initially, as it didn't allow for a smooth fit underneath the corner clamp. By cutting off the existing raised section and printing a replacement part, I was able to create a seamless interface. For anyone who may need to make further adjustments or modifications, the STEP model is provided, offering flexibility in customizing the design according to your specific needs.
