Vertex k8400 Hood enclosure (Remix)
thingiverse
This is a reworked design inspired by Emil Hallgren's Hood enclosure. To avoid using screws on the frame, I modified it to accommodate my PI holder on the right-hand side of the printer. A lid has been added, along with hinges and a handle bar. The top brackets are glued onto the 4mm Acrylic, forming a frame. The bottom brackets are attached in the same manner as Emil's design. The acrylic sheet measures 22cm in height. You may need to adjust the width to fit your printer; my machine is 38.5cm wide, with 38cm on top and 37.7cm on the bottom. The lid measures 36.5x36.5cm. A 12mm cutout has been made at the bottom of the back acrylic sheet, 9.7cm in from both sides. Print Settings Printer: Velleman Vertex k8400 Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.21mm Infill: 30% Notes: Minor supports were used. It's likely possible to print them without support, however.
