Why this particular extruder? Velleman's K8800 printer comes equipped with an extruder, claiming it's ready for TPU printing out of the box. However, if you've ever attempted to print Ninjaflex with it, you'll soon realize that flexible filaments require extremely tight tolerances to prevent rolling on the pushing wheel and resulting in extruder blockage and print failure. The original filament detector is also notoriously unreliable, which makes this endstop technique a game-changer by providing a very reliable solution. Furthermore, the stock mounting solution leaves much to be desired, requiring you to dismount the entire extruder, including the stepper motor, just to make any adjustments. This modification eliminates that hassle and makes the extruder easy to remove and replace at will. Enjoy printing not only soft/flexible filaments but also any other 1.75mm filament with this versatile extruder upgrade!
