### [There's now a version 3, that can be found here](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3030379) This is version 2 of my CR-10 sock, designed to address the issues encountered in the original v1 model after actual building and testing. The following changes were made to improve the design: * Increased coverage on top of the block to ensure the sock stays wrapped around it when heated and provides better protection from the fan * Thickened wall by 0.25mm to prevent sock slipping due to lack of rigidity, an issue that could be resolved with stiffer silicone, but a suitable replacement material is yet to be found * Moved cavities for bottom screws to their correct position * Created space for vertical mounting screws on top cover * Replaced blind sprues in corners with full outlets to facilitate better water flow during the molding process This mold is intended for creating Silicone Sock insulators for the original stock heater block shipped with the CR-10. To work with this mold, you'll need high-temperature silicone, either a two-part mixture or an RTV single part, such as the one I used [here](https://goo.gl/ud9dpR). Additional required supplies include: * Latex gloves * Disposable bowl/dish * Dish soap * 2x M3 12mm screws * An optional but highly beneficial tool: a 1½" Ratcheting C-Clamp, available [here](https://www.amazon.com/IRWIN-QUICK-GRIP-Handi-Clamp-4-59400CD/dp/B00005RHP0) For detailed instructions on how to use this mold, please refer to [this post](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2848281#tips). **Explore my other sock designs for various hotends:** * Version 1 - CR-10 Stock Hotend: [Version 1 - CR-10 Stock Hotend](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2848472) * Generic OEM E3D Hotend: [Generic OEM E3D Hotend](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2848281) * Generic Mk8 Hotend: [Generic Mk8 Hotend](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2848480) * Generic Mk10 Hotend: [Generic Mk10 Hotend](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2848485)
