This is a simple round display pedestal I created for another model I am developing, but I realized others might also be able to utilize the pedestal itself. The pedestal is easily modified directly within your slicer to change diameter, height, make it oval, modify the various band colors, add text on the surface, etc. It can also be printed stand alone to display something you already have or add it to a model in the slicer to print as one piece. In addition, to can be printed either to use as-is or for post-filling to make a weighted base: For post-filling:I found a profile using 10-15% lightning infill produces an almost entirely empty model. I suggest increasing walls to at least 4-5 to give it some rigidity. To fill, a small hole can be drilled in the bottom and it can be filled with your choice of pourable filling material. I know many people like sand, which will work, but keep in mind it may crack open and spill if dropped. I personally like plaster of paris. It’s easy to pour in and solidifies, so you don’t need to plug the filling hole either. For use as-is:Printing with most other typical infills at 15-20% will provide a nice sturdy display base. It will be heavier than the unfilled lightning version and probably heavy enough for many uses. Higher infill % can also be used to give a modest weight increases.
