Vernier Caliper Mount

Vernier Caliper Mount

This is a simple clamp designed to hold your vernier caliper firmly in place on an 8mm rod, ensuring extremely accurate calibration of steps/mm. The clamp features a 16x5mm caliper opening and measures 25x25x23 mm. To achieve the best possible results, you should first collapse the axis movement of the caliper, then zero it out when extended. Next, drive the axis 50mm and take a reading. For calibration purposes, refer to this guide: http://reprap.org/wiki/Triffid_Hunter's_Calibration_Guide#XY_steps. During calibration, I found it easiest to position the hole-gage on the carriage for X and Y movements, while the head rested on the X/Z bearing holder for Z movements. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please don't hesitate to ask - this is my first uploaded item. This clamp was designed using CREO Parametric. I can upload the source file in any format compatible with CREO if needed. An additional version has been added specifically for a 10mm rod. Print settings: * Printer: i3 clone * Rafts: Doesn't matter * Supports: No * Infill: 25% * Notes: Precise calibration is not required.
