A precision measuring tool that employs a vernier scale to provide precise length measurements by aligning a sliding bar with reference marks. The caliper's anvil can be slid towards or away from the jaws, enabling adjustments to accommodate objects of varying widths, such as bolts and shafts. One end has markings for reading in millimeters, allowing for easy identification of measured lengths up to two inches on larger scales or five-hundredths of an inch with smaller gauges.
