Venus, the Roman goddess of love, sex, beauty, and fertility, was a powerful deity with many extraordinary abilities. As the Roman counterpart to the Greek Aphrodite, she stood out for her unmatched talents beyond those of her Hellenic counterpart. In addition to being a goddess of love, Venus was also revered as a patron of victory, fertility, and even prostitution. According to ancient mythologist Hesiod's Theogony, Aphrodite emerged from the sea foam after Saturn, or Cronus in Greek mythology, castrated his father Uranus, or Ouranus, causing blood to flow into the ocean. This origin story is widely believed due to numerous artworks depicting Venus bursting forth from the sea within a seashell.
