Born in 1986, she graduated from Riga Secondary School of Design and Art and is currently pursuing her studies at Latvian Academy of Arts, Department of Visual Communication. The art piece Venus of Willendorf 21st century is an essential contemporary European cultural icon in the 21st-century context. Standing 4.5 meters tall, it is crafted from glued foam rubber sheets covered with pieces of mirror plastic, creating a unique masterpiece reminiscent of Stone Age art. By merging the language of Stone Age and modern art, Brigita Zelca aligns two eras of women's representation. Venus of Willendorf 21st century is a conceptual work that allows contemporary women to shine in their reflection while Venus shines for herself. Her female forms are striking. http://brigitazelca.lv/w/venus-of-willendorf-21st-century/
