Kostienki, a pivotal Paleolithic site spanning 20,000 to 30,000 BCE, is situated along the Don River in Russia. This settlement boasted remarkable features, including intricate venus figures, dwellings crafted from mammoth bones, and an array of flint tools and bone implements. The Kostienki / Kostenki region is not a single site but rather a sprawling area on the right bank of the Don River encompassing over twenty distinct locations in the villages of Kostenki and Borshevo, all dating back to the Paleolithic era. This figurine embodies the quintessential Paleolithic 'Venus', characterized by exaggerated breasts and belly. The arms are pressed tightly against the body with hands resting on the belly. Relief work takes the form of a neatly plaited design conveying a breast ornament securely tied at the rear. Ornate bracelets adorn the arms. Unfortunately, the original has suffered head damage, rendering it absent during the scan of this venus. The Hermitage Museum in St Petersburg, Russia proudly curates this remarkable artifact. This STL was generated from an exceptionally high-resolution scan of the original cast while on display in the Czech Republic during the 1980s. After a two-year odyssey to locate these casts and employ cutting-edge scanning technology (<25 microns), I produced the most accurate and nearly singular museum-quality exact replica of the original Venus figurine available today.
