This marble sculpture, dating back to the Hellenistic or Roman era, replicates a Greek original from 420-410 BC with remarkable precision. The stunning statue is a faithful reproduction of a renowned Greek bronze attributed to the celebrated Classical Greek sculptor Kallimachos. All existing copies of the 'Venus Genetrix' type consistently depict the goddess draped in translucent garments - a distinctive stylistic feature characteristic of Hellenistic sculpture that gained popularity towards the end of the 5th century BC.
