Venturi Eductor Mixer
thingiverse
Human: Venturi Eductor Mixer for my reef aquarium. Based on traditional eductor mixers used in tanks, I wanted one that mixed without equipment having moving parts. Technical Design notes: Eductor section designed as a venturi nozzle per ISO 5167-1 (1991) pp. 28 & 37 specifications. Outlet diverging section has an included angle of 8 degrees, typical of traditional venturi tubes. Inlet nozzle features an inlet included angle of 21 degrees, also typical of traditional venturi tubes. Annulus for outside flow, the spacing between inlet nozzle and eductor section, has a hydraulic diameter equal to the inside diameter of the inlet pipe. Should produce three to five times more flow than a normal return pipe. Supplied the OpenSCAD file. Just enter the return pipe's inside diameter and outside diameter, plus Beta, the ratio of return pipe inner diameter to inlet nozzle diameter, and alpha, the ratio of the return pipe inner diameter to eductor throat diameter. Once assembled, nozzle secured to return pipe wrapped with teflon tape for a secure fit. Added another OpenSCAD file with twist inside eductor section.
