UPDATE 19-07: After I discovered that my "ventilator" excels at converting wind into mechanical energy, I decided to fabricate a "bearing" of sorts to test its capabilities exactly. The print quality of the wheel is not impressive, since then I've switched to ABS (NuNus Blue). I created two new components, a hex interface and a simple bracket to hold the assembly. I've included the files in case someone wants to attempt it. Next step will be a small gearbox, just for the fun of it. UPDATE 17-07: The part printed this morning, unfortunately, while I was working late last night I inadvertently flipped the fin direction, so it'll only move air when turning left. Throughput isn't great, but I suppose if it's in a casing it will compensate. I'll try to create a better version this weekend. A small side project for my neighbor, who received a small desktop cooler from a magazine. Just going to attempt and make it better. Much more information and designs will follow.
