Vented VESA Mount Spacer (100x100mm)

<p>This is a vented spacer to go between a monitor arm and a monitor with a standard 100x100 VESA mount.</p><p>It was designed for my Acer XB273K - when I mounted it on my monitor arm after having used the OEM stand for a while, I noticed a substantial increase in fan noise from the monitor. This is because it uses the area inside the VESA mount to intake air for the cooling fan (see picture), and fitting the arm cuts that off.</p><p>Additionally this spacer gives a 2cm height boost, firstly because my arm's a little low for me, but also because the space is needed to give access to the screws for the monitor side. If the height's an issue, you could always mount it sideways or upside down I guess. There should be plenty of strength in this model.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><h4>Printing</h4><p>Model has been designed to print without support - lay the side with 4 holes on the bed.</p><p>My settings are 0.4mm nozzle, 12% gyroid infill, 3 walls, 3 top+bottom layers. Feels rather overkill strength-wise, but I'd definitely keep the walls as they give strength to the areas the threaded inserts go into.</p><p>I've used PLA+ but if you're leaving the monitor on 24/7 I'd recommend ABS.</p><h4>&nbsp;</h4><h4>Required parts</h4><p>You will need:</p><ul><li>4x M4x12 screws - you might get away with up to M4x16 depending on monitor. Too long and you will damage your monitor though, so check your clearance first!</li><li>4x M4 threaded inserts - 5.5mm top diameter, 8.1mm length, but there's wiggle room</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><h4>Assembly</h4><p>Insert the threaded inserts in the corners of the face with 6 holes.</p><p>Attach to the monitor first using M4 screws (2 deep holes and 2 shallow ones on top) then use the monitor arm thumbscrews to attach the arm to the threaded inserts</p>
