Venice of the North: Narrow Boat
thingiverse
My grandfather always referred to Ellesmere Port as the Venice of the North. This Narrow Barge was designed initially as a prototype before constructing a larger model. I've begun building lock gates - needed to retrieve my Boat Museum book from the 1980s for some reference material. This design originates from a plan discovered online: https://www.thefitoutpontoon.co.uk/product/narrowboat-drawing/ Ellesmere Port serves as home to: https://canalrivertrust.org.uk/places-to-visit/national-waterways-museum
