Ven Version 0.3
thingiverse
I've always been fascinated by RC hobbies, robots, and spider robots in particular. Browsing the web, I came across numerous variants, ranging from super sophisticated models with sensors galore to basic ones that look smart but lack a certain aesthetic appeal, with wobbly legs and simple geometric shapes. So, I decided to design one that looks decently designed while keeping its core simple: 3 degrees of freedom per leg driven by the affordable yet reliable TowerPro SG90 servo, all controlled by an Arduino UNO. I note that this is a temporary setup, as during the next phase, I plan to add more sensors and connectivity, at which point I'll upgrade to another board. The design also allows for printing additional legs, enabling the creation of a 6-legged robot or even more. For now, my Arduino UNO restricts me to a limited number of I/Os. This is my first project involving 3D printing and Arduino, so there's plenty to learn and discover. I apologize in advance to my girlfriend for the noise caused by hours of printing at home. Don't worry; there will be more projects, and I promise to print something lovely for you soon. I initially planned to share this post after completing the first version, but instead, I thought it was a good idea to share it as is, seeking feedback from users and welcoming recommendations, ideas, and constructive criticism.
