Velux DIY Curtain Rods

My parents purchased the Velux brand integrated blackout blinds, but they were unhappy with them because they consistently jammed. To provide a cost-effective solution, I aimed to offer my parents DIY Curtain Rods from Velux. The images I shared showcase the Velux blind in my parents' home. The Velux also features a tilt function, so I positioned the rod far from the window to allow for opening during the day with blackout curtains still in place. This device has two operational modes: - OFF: The rods are at the bottom of the window, and the curtain is wrapped around the upper rod. - ON: By pulling the upper rod down to the bottom of the window and unrolling the curtain, the upper rod is lifted into its upper position. To prevent rotation, I added a hexagonal shape (or honeycomb pattern, if you prefer) to the sides of the bars. This allows for stretching the curtain between the two rods. I also incorporated small slots on each bar's side parts to secure the curtain with the rod when rolling it up. It is essential to ensure that the distance between the side walls remains consistent in both the upper and lower rod positions. If not, you will need to modify the thickness of the upper wall hangers (a customizable model is in development).
