A standard-sized bicycle wheel spoke is secured with a magnet that's detectable by a hall effect sensor. The design can be customized to accommodate different magnet sizes, but comes ready for a 3/16" x 1/8" disc magnet (available at Harbor Freight Tools in the US). Share your variations on Thingiverse! Check out the design process here and more info on velosynth.com. Print using your MakerBot with the provided g-code or create your own from the STL; it takes around 8.8 minutes. After printing, remove the raft and insert the magnet while still hot for a tight fit (add glue if needed). Drill holes with a 3/32" bit and install the M3 nuts and tensioning bolt to complete the process.
