Velocity Stacks - Yamaha XT 600 For use on YDIS (Yamaha Duo Intake System) made by Teikei on model 43F. The XT600 engine is a single cylinder, 600cc powerhouse that uses two carburetors, one of which is used up to half throttle before both are engaged for full throttle performance. This dual-carb setup proves more efficient than a single large carburetor. The two carbs are mounted close together, with 66mm centers and an intake OD of 44mm, making it necessary for velocity stacks to be designed with a 15-degree tilt to avoid clashing in the middle. These velocity stacks have been engineered with an elliptical curve to maximize efficiency. The nearside stack includes a 10mm tube to connect the engine breather pipe; if no breather pipe is attached, simply print two offside stacks. To install, use a 'Jubilee Clip' or similar to clamp onto the outside of the carb intake, securing it with maybe some silicone for a tight seal. You may need to sand the inside surface for a smooth finish. Printed in PETG material, these velocity stacks are optimized for 240 head and 75 bed settings at a speed of 50mm/sec, with an initial layer printed at 20mm/sec. It's worth considering printing these stacks in NYLON for enhanced temperature tolerance; while the PETG examples have performed well so far, higher temperatures may still pose a challenge, especially in warmer climates like those found outside the UK.
