Velociraptor Claws
thingiverse
Remix of the previous glowing claws. The previous ones worked okay in the foam, but only if you wanted really thick foam paws. This year my daughter was going for more of a bone look and wanted more dexterity and control. These are not as good as some of the fantastic mechanical ones I saw, but the concept is very simple. Stick your fingers in them and you get more control. Pictures to come when she finishes her gloves, but as Halloween is drawing near figure I would get them posted. Note I included supports that have a curved side. Be sure to use your slicer to set the flat side to be bed. That is if you plan to use them. I showed my daughter how to use a curved needle to attach these to her gloves more permanently, but she said the thread bothered her finger, so we actually didn't use them in the end and just hot glued them to the foam to help keep them in place. Still better than the previous design, but need to work out the attachment in a way that is more comfortable to really maximize the control. That all said there is one other drawback. As you can see one of the finger inserts is designed to be put on the ring finger and the ring finger and little finger tapped together. This without the thumb looks very Velociraptorish, but add the thumb and they kind of look more like sloth claws. So have fun using and remixing them either way you decide to go.
