I wanted a custom quick release plate for my Velbon S-400 tripod, but couldn't find one with a thicker top and smaller hole, so I made one myself. This design fits any tripod with a Velbon QB5L quick release. It's specifically designed for a 1/4-20 bolt, which requires screwing through the plastic past the threaded area to prevent the bolt from falling out when removing the camera. I printed this plate in PLA, but plan to use ABS for my panomount design. To create this custom part, I used SmallRig's D-ring hinged release standard as a reference and purchased 1/4 X 20 bolts on Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/SmallRig-D-ring-Hinged-Release-Standard/dp/B009FILPMU.
