Introducing the Vega Solar System Probe Bus and Landing Apparatus, launched by the Soviet Union in 1984 on board Vega 1 & 2 spacecrafts. These spacecraft flew past Venus, deployed scientific instruments into its atmosphere, then navigated through Comet Halley's tail, transmitting data back to Earth. The mission saw collaboration between scientists and instruments from numerous countries, marking a new era of international cooperation for the Soviet space program. French researchers designed Vega's main Venus experiment, an atmospheric balloon carrying scientific tools. Additionally, a Soviet-engineered lander was released to investigate Venus' surface. The museum showcases these bus and landing apparatus models courtesy of J. Buckner Hightower, Gregory W. Schnurr, and Lavochkin Scientific Production Association. Vega's station model is 1.2 with a landing module, constructed using photographs.
