The Panhard Véhicule Blindé Légér, or VBL for short, is a French-made 4x4 all-terrain wheeled vehicle created by Panhard. Offering various configurations, it combines the agility of Peugeot VLTT liaison vehicle with protection against small arms fire, artillery fragments, mines and NBC weapons. Amphibious, it swims at 5.4 km/h and can be air transported by C-130, C-160 or A400M. Developed in the '80s, the VBL entered service in France in 1990 with a fuel consumption of 16 litres per 100 km; it's offered in both desert and woodland camouflage variants.
