VAWT Driven Peristaltic Pump
grabcad
A greywater harvesting system with a minimal footprint has always intrigued me. I believe this vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT) powered bilateral peristaltic pump could be part of the solution. It can refill toilet cisterns, move water from ground level to a header tank or power a trickle water feature, even simultaneously performing two tasks. To create it, I adapted someone else's wormgear assembly and used another person's coupling, while also adding my own custom VAWT impeller. Each half of the pump is capable of 3-15 litres per hour depending on wind conditions.
