Vauxhall Corsa Steering Rack Bush
thingiverse
In the end of the Corsa (and others) steering rack is actually a bush, and it's designed to wear out over time. However, motor factors prefer to sell steering racks rather than individual bushes. This common wear point on the Corsa (and other models using the same steering rack) manifests as lateral movement in the nearside steering rack arm. If you grasp the inner tie rod where it connects to the rack and move it forward and backward, you'll feel significant play. To replace the bush, simply remove the tie rod and pull out the worn bush, then insert a new one. You can purchase these replacement bushes on Ebay at affordable prices. If you have access to nylon filament and a 3D printer, you can even design your own custom bush. In fact, here's a model you can use as a reference. In this photo, I printed the bush using ABS plastic for testing purposes, but for actual use, it's recommended that you print with nylon, just like the original part. Please note that when working with 3D-printed parts, safety should be your top priority. This bush is not load-bearing and won't hold wheels on the car, but it does provide essential support and guidance for the steering rack's long travel. Use this information at your own risk.
