VAULT-TEC CASE
thingiverse
I've successfully printed the box and everything functions as expected. The print time was 37 hours in total on fast mode under my settings. I'm going to print one on high next since everything works seamlessly. This box is rock solid and the latches work a bit too well. I anticipate that they'll loosen over time with regular use. This is the final version and I'll be working on the larger version now. I designed it to be functional from the start. Big thanks go out to carlctz1978 for discovering the problem with the hinge and logo down print. The model was intentionally printed hinge down, but this approach can be wasteful and adds considerable time to the print process. I've added a smooth top with a stencil for printing hinge up, which should work on both the smooth top and top with logo. This is a large print project that requires some extra care. I highly recommend using a backup power battery. For opening up the hinge holes, use an 11/32 or 9mm drill bit, while a 5/16 drill bit works best for the latch holes. Anyone who downloaded this before January 5th, 2020 should re-download the top and bottom parts. The hinge pins, latch pins, and latches are still good to go.
