Vault-Tec / Baofeng UV-5RA Faceplate

Finally! Proof that Vault-Tec is indeed owned by a Chinese company has surfaced. The UV-5RA is a stylish update to the popular UV-5R commercial/amateur handheld transceiver, featuring a sleek redesign. The PTT button now boasts a nicer feel and a rounded out design that feels more comfortable in your hand. However, as you can see from the product page, the stock faceplate appears rather garish, characteristic of all metal-look plastics. Fortunately, 3D printing comes to the rescue! Two models are available: a blank with no holes, allowing sound to still come through, and my somewhat rough approximation of the Vault-Tec logo from the Fallout video game series. In my example photo, I began with white PETG then halted the print halfway through, switching to black PETG once the 'grill' had completed. You can print in a solid color and paint the grill, or opt for a filament switch like I did, resulting in a sharp appearance. By the way, all links are affiliate links.
